Here’s What To Expect on Sundays!
Our Sunday worship services and the preceding meal time are our biggest weekly gatherings! Yes, we worship at 2pm, so enjoy sleeping in or whatever else you’d like to do on Sunday morning! When you arrive @ The Way campus, you’ll see our property includes a big front field, with designated car parking including a paved lot for handicapped parking, as well as a picnic area roped off in front of the building for children’s safety. For your convenience, we have a long, easily traversable access ramp in addition to our steps up to the porch where our rocking chairs are rockin’.

Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by friendly faces in our colorful space. Our building currently has a main meeting area, accessible bathroom, and children’s nursery with a windowed door. Sometimes we wear name-tags to make visitors feel more comfortable with names, though we’re currently looking for ones that do a better job sticking!

Our food offerings at 1pm vary by week, and we are happy to take into consideration any dietary restrictions. By default, we account for gluten-free diets and beef allergies. Lunch is casual, with some sitting outside at picnic tables or in rocking chairs, and some set up inside at tables and chairs. We’ve got plenty of space to buddy up or spread out.

Our 0.4 mi wooded walking trail is also open during the day!

As it nears 2pm, we’ll start a 5 minute visual countdown as we approach service time and transition into worship. We average between 25-35 on a Sunday. Our worship style is creative. Our worship band typically includes vocalists, keyboard, cajon, and guitar. Lyrics are projected on a screen up front. We have more than enough chairs for everyone, but our casual seating includes a couch and church bench for any who feel more comfortable sitting there.

Our children begin worship with us, and are typically dismissed to the children’s room after the first congregational song. This may be preceded by a children’s activity moment in the main space. The children rejoin the service to receive communion with the whole church at the direction of their family!

We take time for prayers of the people before we pray, so you are invited to share your needs and thanks, but no one is required to speak, of course.

We also practice more responsive preaching: during the sermon time, there are often times of response where questions are posed to the group, and we all engage in exploring and wrestling with the scripture and thoughts of the day.

Our communion is an open table, so anyone responding to the grace of God may receive the sacrament. We receive by what’s called intinction, where we come up to those serving, receive a piece of (gluten free) bread, and dip it into the cup, hearing the words “The body of Christ, broken for you,” and “The blood of Christ, shed for you,” or some variation.

For offering, visitors are not expected to give, and we ask that you feel no guilt or obligation during this time! For those eager to contribute, we of course welcome your generosity. We show a QR code to give online, and pass around a collection bag for a physical collection.

After service, some folks leave, many stay and enjoy continued fellowship or take advantage of our Children’s Lending Library of curated children’s books, or peruse our library of board games to lend out!
